GETTING STARTED IN MODEL RAILROADING
Then Do it Right

Where it all Started

I found in the attic of an old house I was renovating a Model Railroad Switch that had been left behind by the previous owner. At that time I knew zero about what I then called toy trains but I took the switch home anyway. While watching TV that night I fiddled with the switch and it facinated me ( I know, I need to get a life) enough that I decided to investigate Model Railroading

So I started searching the internet for Tips, Tricks and Model Railroad Secrets. After many hours of browsing the net and a sore neck to boot I came to the conclusion that there was so much information out there for experienced Model Railroaders, but where does the Railroad Newbie start?

The Process
I was sceptical about buying an ebook over the internet. As a complete beginner with limited funds I was wary about parting with hard earned cash to someone I didn't know. So I went to the local Model Railway store and started asking questions. After an hour with him I was no better off. It suddenly hit me, If I was a little more in the know then I could go to the shop and tell him what I needed. After all, the guy at the store just wants to make a sale, right? Nothing wrong with that mindyou!

Now I wouldn't build a house without a plan so why should A Model Railroad be any different. With that in mind I want to have a plan before I lay the first track. All I've done so far is to make the decision that due to space for the layout or rather lack of it, I'll build my railway in N guage, In fact my children gave to me for Christmas a Locomotive, A Bachmann Rock Island GP18, I'm stoked. So now I have to build a Model Railroad and I'm currently putting plans down on paper. I also thorouhly read the authoritative.......

This web site will grow alongside my
Model Railroad

So call back from time to time
